Eco-Conscious
Hannah Louise Stitches is a Manchester-based textile studio founded by Hannah Louise, an accomplished embroiderer, artist, and designer. After discovering embroidery as a creative outlet during her career in nursing, Hannah now focuses on creating vibrant, mindful designs inspired by nature and biophilic concepts. Each piece reflects her love for colour, texture, and craftsmanship, blending hand and digital embroidery techniques to produce unique textile goods. Our studio is rooted in the belief that textiles can be both beautiful and responsible. Every product is thoughtfully designed and created in our Manchester studio using high-quality, eco-conscious materials.
Our Spirit
At Hannah Louise Stitches, we celebrate nature’s beauty and the power of creativity. From botanical motifs to vivid colour palettes, our designs aim to evoke joy, optimism, and a connection to the natural world. Drawing inspiration from biophilic design principles and chroma therapy, each piece is designed to uplift and restore. We believe embroidery is more than a craft—it’s a mindful, therapeutic experience.
Eco-Friendly Materials
We are committed to sustainability at every stage of our process. Our products are made with responsibly sourced materials, recycled polyesters as well as organic cottons. Our velvet pouches, bags, and accessories are crafted using 100% recycled polyester made from plastic waste, such as collected bottles that are transformed into high-quality fibres. We also use colourfast Madeira threads to ensure our designs are long-lasting and vibrant. Our Bargello needlepoint kits feature wool yarns to support the Campaign for Wool, a global initiative that promotes the natural, sustainable, and biodegradable qualities of wool. Using this high-quality wool not only enhances your stitching experience but also supports responsible wool production practices. Whenever possible, our paper goods and packaging—like our postcards and instructions—are printed on FSC-certified paper, ensuring they meet high environmental and social standards.
Reducing Waste
We take great care to minimise plastic usage in our packaging. Our embroidery kits are packaged in sturdy, recyclable materials. When plastic is necessary, it’s purely to protect the goods, and we are constantly working to reduce this further. All our digitally embroidered pieces are made to order in our studio, ensuring minimal waste and a truly personalised product.
Supporting Local & Sustainable Production
The majority of our materials are sourced from UK-based suppliers, and many of our products are handcrafted in our studio. By focusing on local and European production, we reduce our carbon footprint while supporting ethical manufacturing practices.
We Care About Our Planet
We believe that even small steps can make a big difference in the fight against climate change. We’re proud to support environmental initiatives and are always exploring new ways to make our business more sustainable.
